Client situation

The ‘Kuratorium für Heimdialyse’ (KfH e.V.), the biggest provider of ambulant dialysis in Germany, wanted to support its treatment teams in patient communication to make it easier to advise patients on the disease and on preventive as well as therapeutic measures.

Our solution

In close consultation with KfH e.V. and medical specialists, we developed patient brochures that provide information about comorbidities and helpful tips for selfmanagement of patients. Using easy-to-understand, empathetic language and concise infoboxes, we ensured that patients could absorb the content at their own pace. Combined with descriptive infographics, the results were practical guides that support treatment teams in their daily work and provide patients with reliable health information.

The brochures were very well received by both patients and treatment teams and have been used extensively since their publication. The brochures support the treatment teams in their work, as they make patient communication much easier. For the patients, the brochures offer real added value, as the at times quite complex topics have been presented in a comprehensible and clear manner and are thus a low-threshold offer to integrate tips for maintaining health into their everyday life.
